Plumbing Emergency in Newtown
Jarrod sighed with relief as he slumped down on the couch. He had just experienced the most exhausting day he could remember and it was just good to be home.
It was Friday, the best night of the week and Jarrod was expecting some mates to turn up soon for their usual night of drinks and football. He headed to the kitchen to prepare some food and heard a soft dripping noise, which proceeded to increase in volume as he drew closer to the kitchen. “Darn!” he said as he realised he must have left the tap on all day. That will cost me, he thought. Jarrod reached over to tighten the tap but to his surprise couldn’t budge it any tighter. “That’s strange,” he said to himself.
Just then a drumming sounded on the front door, which broke his train of thought. Must be the boys, he concluded.
His mates Matt, Jeff and Simon piled into kitchen in search of food and found Jarrod fiddling with the tap. “What’s up?” asked Jeff. “The tap won’t stop dripping, it’s very annoying, not to mention wasting my water and money!” Jarrod explained. “Here, let me have a look” said Simon. Simon tightened the tap with all of his strength when a loud pop erupted, sending water streaming out in all directions. Everyone was now wet from the water spray, which dampened the partying mood. “Good one,” said Matt sarcastically.
“Argh! No one will be willing to come out on a Friday night to repair this!” said Jarrod in despair. The boys looked at each other dumbfounded as to what to do next. “Actually I know someone who will!” Jeff excitedly proclaimed. “My sister had a plumbing emergency on a Saturday night last month and this guy was the only Newtown plumber who showed up and had everything fixed in no time. Her emergency plumber services the Newtown area but is also available to Annandale, Camperdown, Chippendale, Glebe, Stanmore, Petersham, Leichhardt, Lilyfield, Erskineville, St Peters, Marrickville and Enmore.”
Jarrod called the emergency plumber, who was gladly willing to assist him with his plumbing problem. He promptly arrived half an hour later and set to work investigating the cause of the emergency burst tap.
It turned out that there was a crack which had, in effect, been made larger by excessive force. The Newtown plumber was very thorough and explained everything that needed to be done before he proceeded with the repair. Jarrod couldn’t be happier as he watched the football game with his mates, knowing that his plumbing was in good hands.
